Ever since I worked on my first album, "The Other Side of Broken" in 2006, I have been dreaming and scheming and looking forward to one day recording a "gospel" project. In the time since then, I have been fortunate enough to record and release two other full-length records "Underground Railroad" (2009) and "There Is No Fun in Funeral" (2011) with my band, Ben Morris and The Great American Boxcar Chorus. We have recorded over 40 original songs over the past few years, and many are very close to my heart. I am very proud of the music we have created. Still, I feel something nagging at me every time I think about the project I have "been called" to work on, but haven't yet... 'Amen Brother' is a full-length album of original songs & traditional gospel hymns recorded to share the love of Jesus Christ. "If y'all don't love this band...something is wrong with your genetics" - Mark David Manders "Morris' talent as a songwriter is equaled by his rich voice and complemented by a cadre of talented musicians. If you are a fan of country or folk music, Ben Morris & GABC is a 'don't miss' gig." - Hap Mansfield / San Marcos Mercury "...a rich vocal tone like Haggard & guitar-driven Cash-like melodies...a vibrant personality like Roger Miller...full of character and energy..." - Granger Smith "I don't know what to say about them. They defy definition. You can only experience it..." - Matt Matthews / Program Director KTWL 105.3 "Sometimes a group of musicians just clicks." - Matthew Watkins / Bryan/College Station Eagle "Ben Morris & The Great American Boxcar Chorus may be local, but they are anything but ordinary." - Maroon Weekly / College Station.back to top
