Reviews:

It's amusing to hear message board warriors speculate about the success of the forthcoming fourth Indiana Jones movie, figuring that it'll make meager bank because we the people have forgotten about Indy, a fossilized product of the '80s. Well, if we have diminished interest in archaeology/adventure, how come this stopgap imitation series has plundered the box office for hundreds of millions in the last four years? This time out, Nicolas Cage's goofily named treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates seeks to absolve his great-great grandfather of the assassination of Lincoln. Wait, you say, didn't John Wilkes Booth take out Honest Abe? Well, it turns out that Booth kept a diary that implicates the elder Gates as the mastermind. This gets Cage hopscotching between exotic historical locales, along with usual suspects Jon Voight, Justin Bartha and Diane Kruger. Ultimately, they're made aware of the titular Book of Secrets, a Presidential diary of sorts about Watergate, the JFK assassination, Area 51 and much more.
